Mid week Check-inFrom the Rector's Desk: Holy Week edition This week, there are several opportunities to participate in Holy Week. Here is what to expect: We begin the Triduum (or Three Services) on April 2 at 6pm, with Maundy Thursday. We will have a simple supper in the hall, the celebration of Eucharist will take place as a part of our meal and there will be an invitation to participate in the ritual of foot washing. When the meal is over, we will make our way into the sanctuary, where we will strip the altar and create our altar of repose in the side chapel. April 3, Good Friday, we will gather in the bare sanctuary at 10am to retell the story of Jesus death on the cross with the Stations of the Cross . We do this a little bit differently. Rather than walking through the stations, we have a collection of readings and reflections that are set to images, which will be shown on our screens. We will sit and listen and watch as the story unfolds. April 4, Holy Saturday service begins at 8pm. We will light the new fire, process in with the Christ Candle, ring bells and celebrate Christ bursting from the tomb. April 5, Easter Sunday, there are many opportunities to gather and celebrate, beginning with an Easter Sunrise service at 6:20 am at the Fishermen's Memorial at Garry Point Park, followed by a light breakfast at Our Saviour (6340 No 4 Road) 8:30 am We will celebrate the Eucharist and renew our baptismal vows. 10 am We will celebrate the baptism for Leo Arnaud, hear the Godly play story of Easter, gather for Eucharist and celebrate with cake and an Easter egg hunt. I look forward to seeing you! |
