Palm Sunday
This Sunday, we will kick off Holy Week with our celebration of Palm Sunday. The tradition of raising and waving palm branches comes from the ancient Near East where they would do this at the entrance to the cities to symbolize victory or welcome. So we think about welcoming Jesus here on this land and this part of Richmond, I am inviting you to bring a branch from a tree or plant from this area. We will bless the branches that you bring and process in with them and then use them to create the display at the front of the church.
