Sara Miller has offered a list of her favorite podcasts for those interested - thank you, Sara!

Justin Brierley’s podcasts:

  • The Surprising Rebirth of Belief in God Surprising Rebirth Podcast – Justin Brierley is a book and podcast.  This is a documentary style podcast and is very interesting.

  • Re-enchanting is a lovely podcast where the hosts Justin Brierley and Belle Tindall host discussions on faith and spirituality with leading figures in science, history, politics, art and education and discuss how to re-enchant the world today.  It’s on YouTube where you can watch the interviews or via Re-Enchanting (pod.link).

  • Justin Brierley also hosted a podcast on Premier Christian Radio called “Unbelievable” for 17 years, until 2023.  He hosts with great respect and seeking to understand and ensure all views are explored and heard. The podcasts generally engage a couple of individuals coming from different perspectives, sceptics, believers and atheists in conversations on a range of topics shining a light on their different points of view. It is still going but I miss his hosting!  Unbelievable? (premierunbelievable.com).  If you search his name in the unbelievable search engine you will find many of his podcasts.  They are also available on YouTube.

Elizabeth Oldfield is another podcast host I respect.  In “The Sacred” podcast, she hosts interviews with a range of different individuals to better understand their outlooks and spirituality.

Mental Health and Wellness Program

Mental Health and Wellness Program

Offered by Gilmore Park United Church

Our friends at Gilmore Park United are offering a series of mental health and wellness programs. This latest group will focus on practical tools for wellness including meditation. They are limiting participation to 15 people in order to ensure a good sense of connection and trust between the participants so please encourage folks to register if they are interested.

It is expected to fill up. It is not a therapy group but primarily educational. However, folks are invited to connect the content with their own experiences and are free to share and discuss that.

If you have any questions about the program, please feel free to contact the leader, Liz Barlow (eebarlow101@gmail.com), who is an active member of Gilmore Park and a retired social worker.
