Mid week Check-inFrom the Stewardship Team This Stewardship Reflection pays tribute to our dear friend and fellow parishioner, David Batchelor. We wish to share our deep gratitude for his devoted leadership of the Stewardship ministry at St Anne’s and his participation on the Parish Council. David built up the Stewardship Ministry at St Anne’s in recent years and believed passionately that stewardship was at the heart of a healthy church community. He expanded the stewardship pillars of time, talent and treasure, to include wellness, without which he emphasized the other pillars could not stand. He drew from the wisdom of Rev Douglas Hambridge who had previously mentored David in this ministry and said that “We are not merely called to take part in stewardship programs. We are called to be stewards of God's future: not just collectors of money, not fundraisers, but stewards entrusted with God's agenda with which to shape the future for God and for the Kingdom.” David used his considerable talent, energy and enthusiasm to help develop an everyday stewardship mindset in us. He shared the stewardship reflections each month blending stories, humour and humility, encouraging us to ponder the many dimensions of stewardship. He was a great exemplar for this ministry. I personally am so thankful for David, and will remember and celebrate the wonderful legacy he has left us, as well as his kindness, generosity and wisdom. As I supported him in the stewardship ministry this year, I learned so much. He made me think and made me laugh in equal measure. Always one to bring levity, he took the Stewardship ministry very seriously and was adamant that it not be focused on fundraising. Respecting this, a separate fundraising committee has been established so that the Stewardship ministry can continue to focus on the other stewardship pillars. David generously shared a compendium of his Stewardship reflections which the Parish Council would like to share to honour David’s legacy, providing a precious resource for the congregation for times to come. |

From the Fundraising TeamFundraising Brainstorm and Lunch this Sunday. At the last Parish Council retreat it was agreed to set up a fundraising committee to help raise funds to address the St Anne's deficit and support the running and ministries of our beloved church home.
The fundraising committee has now been set up, and is being co-chaired by Chris Dorle and Sara Miller, with Monika Follett and Roger Farrier serving as committee members. All are welcome to attend fundraising committee meetings which will be announced beforehand.
Our first action as a committee is to hold a hold a brainstorming session to generate and prioritize ideas for fundraising activities and events on Sunday, 20 July at 11.30. All St Anne's parishioners are invited to attend, and we look forward to hearing your creative suggestions on how we can raise funds, have fun, and build community in the process. A light sandwich lunch will be provided. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
Please send any questions or comments, to chrisdorle@gmail.com
