From the rector's deskSeason of Creation This Sunday we begin the Season of Creation. The theme this year is 'Let Peace and Justice Flow' Prophet Amos cries out “But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5: 24) You can learn more about it here When you come into the sanctuary, you will notice that we have intentioanlly tried to make the aisle of our church look like a river. And we have hung two beautiful images of water on the all behind the altar by Cedric Tetzel. As with last year, each week has a them and we will be offering some ways that enable us to meaningfully participate in the season. If all goes according to plan, it will look like this: Week of September 3: Pray. We will have an interactive prayer response in our liturgy this Sunday September 10: Learn. We will be hosting a movie night with popcorn to watch the documentary 2040 in the side chapel on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 September 17, Act we will head out to the dyke at the end of Francis rd again on Saturday, September 23rd. to participate in a shore line clean up. Meet at the parking lot at the end of Francis Rd before the dyke trail entrance at 10am September 24, Advocate we will offer some simple actions that each of us can take to advocate for the planet. October 1, Bless - we are going to celebrate St. Francis and bless and give thanks for our animal companions to close out this season.
I hope you will consider joining us for all or some of this season as we celebrate creation and find ways to live into our baptismal call to strive to safeguard the integrity of God's creation, and respect, sustain and renew the life of the Earth. I think it's shaping up to be a great month!
With gratitude for our ministry together, Marnie |

Thank you!To everyone who showed up and helped to move the fridge! A big thank you to Jim Greatbanks and Jim Riley and of course Jorge, for getting the new fridge into the kitchen. It looks great! I understand that it was delivered a little earlier than anticipated and so others arrived at 3pm as asked, but it was already done. Thank you to all who showed up to help. I think this new fridge is going to make a big difference for our food ministry!
