What began as a blank wall has become a beautiful reflection of who we are as St. Anne’s Steveston Anglican Church.
This mural honours the place we call home—our fishing heritage, the waters that have shaped our community, and Jesus’ invitation to become fishers of people.
Look closely and you’ll discover stories woven throughout: The majestic great blue heron watching over the shoreline. The red-winged blackbird hidden among the reeds. A tiny hummingbird hovering over the flowers. The hands of St. Anne gently embracing creation. Colourful fish swimming through the waves, reminding us of the joy and diversity of God’s family.
Every brushstroke celebrates welcome, service, hope, and our shared responsibility to care for all creation.
Our heartfelt thanks to the incredibly talented Joey Mallett, whose creativity, patience, and willingness to listen helped transform our vision into something that will inspire our community for years to come.
Thank you as well to the City of Richmond Community Mural Program, our mural team, and everyone who stopped by to encourage Joey, ask questions, and watch the magic unfold.
If you are in the vacinity, drop by, take a closer look, and discover the little surprises for yourself.
Because every community has a story… and this one is now painted on our wall.
