Study Group - Saving Jesus Redux

Starting Wednesday October 21 we will be offering a study group on the series “Saving Jesus Redux”. This is a study program put together by the Living the Questions organization as an exploration of how we can understand Jesus today. The program is an exploration of the Bible, and faith and our own responses and responsibilities as followers of Jesus. Each week’s session will be between an hour and an hour and a half and include a 30-minute video presented by a variety of world renown scholars and writers exploring an aspect of Christianity and who Jesus is. We will then explore that week’s topic together in guided discussion and questions. Contributors to the series include Marcus Borg, Walter Brueggemann, John Dominic Crossan, Matthew Fox, Amy-Jill Levine, Brian McLaren, Diana Butler Bass, Robin Meyers, and a host of others for a conversation around the relevance of Jesus for today. The total program is 12 weeks so we are going to split it into 2 sections of 6 weeks each. We will hold the first 6 weekly sessions starting October 21 to November 25. The last six-weeks will be held in early 2021. You are free to do either or both. This should be a fascinating exploration of Christianity and who Jesus is for us. I encourage everyone to join in!
