Welcome to St. Anne's! Thank you for choosing to visit us! Here's some information to help you navigate your way around.
About the Service
When you come into our front entrance, someone will offer you a leaflet (also known as the bulletin) which contains the Order of Service together with announcements and instructions about the service.
The 8:30am service uses the Book of Alternative Services (BAS) but you won't have to worry about following a book as the leaflet has the entire service printed in it, so it is user-friendly. This service is a spoken service, with no sung hymns, except on the first Sunday of the month when we've been experiencing with a little bit of music.
The 10am service also uses the BAS and the service is found in the leaflets. At this service our choir joins us and there are sung hymns and songs. We are so blessed with our choir and Music Director, Jonathan Der.
About the Music
At St. Anne's we are blessed to have two resources to draw on for our hymns (songs) - the Anglican hymn book, Common Praise (blue book) and the United Church book, Voices United (red book).
About Children in Church
Children are always welcome! Kids will make noise - and that's ok! Our Rector, Brian, has a microphone - the children don't!
The children come up for a chat with the Rector towards the start of the service and then go out to Sunday School. Please feel free to accompany your children to Sunday School, especially those first few weeks as the children getting to know the church and other children.
For the babies and toddlers, there is a room to the north west side of the church, where the children can play or read while parents can still see the service and hear everything that goes on during the service. Just ask the Rector or one of the ushers where the "children's room" is.
